I was honored

ree

on Friday (12/4/20) to chair the annual meeting of the National Recording Preservation Board, the group chartered by the Library of Congress to recommend recordings to be inducted into the prestigious National Recording Registry. They must be culturally, historically and/or musically significant, and be at least 10 years old. In fact, most of the 500 works now in the Registry are over 25 years old. The Board is made up of about 2 dozen experts from the music biz, broadcasting and academe. The meeting this year was a 7 hour Zoom session. Whew! The official list of new works to be inducted will be unveiled in March.
