Lazy

Robbin Ahrold, Billy Seidman

There’s a hammock swinging by a stream with a cold beer just in reach

I’m dozing as the songbirds croon while my family’s at the beach

There’s blue sky above my head and the cool breeze feels so fine

Folks, this must be someone else’s life, ‘cause it sure as hell ain't mine

The boss has got me working nights, don’t get home until ten

Dad duty takes the weekend days, dawn ‘til dusk, and back again

I got a list of chores two miles long fixing windows, doors, then bikes

When I finish them, guess what friends, I get another from my wife

I just wanna be lazy

Just a little bit spacey

Don’t give a damn what they see

Lazy. . .

The theme park’s just a three-mile drive; let’s all pile in the car

Been under the hood on this bucket of bolts, can this jalopy get that far?
Then bang! We felt right rear blow, the jacks not in the trunk

Looks like the spare tire’s missing too; now this vacation’s sunk
I just wanna be lazy
Triple A come amaze me!
Hope State Farm repays me

Lazy. . .

Kitchen counter’s cracked and needs some work, sink’s sprung a leak or two
Something green’s growin’ way back in the fridge, oven’s filled with some black goo

Cats chasing mice in the pantry now, got ‘coons on the roof, I fear

Squirrels made holes in the back porch screen; is that birds in the attic I hear?

I just wanna be lazy
This old house betrays me

The upkeep dismays me

Lazy. . .

There’s a place for me at heaven’s door if Peter lets me in
Where I get to write the to-do lists and lazy’s not a sin
Where I can watch tv the whole day thru, where my man-chair’s a throne

Endless bowls of popcorn, endless beer, that’s my idea of home!

I just wanna be lazy
Certifiably crazy
Hope nothin’ delays me

Laaaazy
